Mother is the first book from artist and photographer Adrian Samson. His images construct a kaleidoscopic visual narrative of early childhood. The world envelopes us in soft, saturated, tender encounters; with the occasional flicker of something tangy or repellent. In the periphery, at the edges of the page, are signs of the caring and protective gestures that create and maintain this world. Here a parallel narrative unfolds: at once joyful, fleeting, and fraught.
